Old Fashioned Pear Cake
This is one of those cakes that reminds you of morning tea at a Nanna's house or an old-fashioned bake sale cake. It's homely, comforting and downright delicious. Give it a whirl?

Old Fashioned Pear Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of plain flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 2/3 cup caster sugar
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups of preserved pear or grated pear
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180˚ and grease and flour a cake tin. (I used a loaf, which takes a little longer to cook through. A tin that makes a thinner cake would be fine, also).
- Place all the dry ingredients into the mixer and mix. I do this instead of sifting, because I am lazy, but I find it works just fine, thank you.
- While the dry ingredients are ‘sifting,’ mix the wet ingredients together.
- Place them in to the mixer and mix until combined.
- Add your pears to the mixer and combine together until it all looks yummy and like cake batter.
- Pour the batter in to your cake tin.
- Pop it in the oven. The cooking time could vary depending on your tin and oven. Check at an hour and if it needs more leave it in, otherwise take it out and devour!
